It's Nearly Veteran's Day

“We’re beginning to see, across the country, the first trickle of this generation of warriors in homeless shelters,” said Phil Landis, chairman of Veterans Village of San Diego, a residence and counseling center. “But we anticipate that it’s going to be a tsunami.”

I've known a lot of vets over the years. Some are my friends. Some I met while bartending or while working in community outreach (homelessness and mental health). I am intellectually and morally opposed to war, and that conviction has been confirmed by talking to vets. War is brutal and everyone gets hurt.

I know some like to say that war is inevitable, but I think that's a bullshit, narrow-minded cop out and a perspective born in patriarchy. Wars are started by nasty pure-bred vampiric men with small penises and smaller brains. (Oh, and religion! For some reason religious people like to go to war. Maybe their gods demand blood sacrifice.) If we stop letting the nasty-vampiric-men-with-small-penises-and-smaller-brains and/or religious people make all of the policy in the world we might stop some having wars all of the damn time, wars fought by the poor and the working classes.

Please support our troops. Bring them home safely.

Humans Love War!

You have to admit, there's a lot of evidence for that proposition.

But I do agree. War is not necessarily inevitable.

But as long as people (male & female) continue to act unquestioningly on the orders of greedy, psychopathic egomaniacs, then quite obviously; we will have war.

The only war necessary is Revolutionary War. I think we're long overdue for one.

And please stop referring to my small penis.

Twit,
Yes, they do love war and yes I do admit it.

And you are right, my comment was a bit chauvinist -- HOWEVER, whenever I say "Hey, let's stop having wars for a change," I usually get a semi-patronizing response from some guy eager to set my silly little female head on straight about how war is infinite, human nature, blasé, blasé, bullshit, etc.

But you are correct and the greedy egomaniacs (male & female) are ALWAYS spoiling it for the rest of us. Good quote.

I know the kind of response of which you speak; robotic males running through their equally static fathers's(?) programming.

Of course, if we want to play with the question of 'What defines war?' then we can always find ways of making it seem inevitable.

But that's a cop-out & we all know it.

So some of us must want it.

Is there then; a 'war gene'?

Quite possibly.

So! But!?

Hmmmmmmm.

Oh dear.

Map-less again.

I hate that wabbit.
