If You Want Me To Stay

I've been running with a couple of "gentlemen" for awhile and I've just decided that I'm done with them.

I want someone who will say to me, "If you want me to stay..." And frankly I'm sick and tired of the same-old-bland-emotionally-stunted-stagnant-sterile-and-vacant deals I've settled for. Who wants a lifetime of cold oatmeal?

Also, it isn't just about my want. I would really like to meet up with someone who has wants regarding me. I wouldn't mind fulfilling some of them.

In any case, I don't really care if I meet someone else or not. I'm good at being single. I just know that the situation was completely aggravating and unfulfilling to me and I refuse to be locked into some ridiculous script in which I can either play the role of the doormat or the bitch. I'm not so good at those things. No, thank you. Time to make a new movie.

Okay, but here's the thing ... I really love to be in love. To rather radically paraphrase Rob Brezny when describing those born under my sign, we were made by love of love for love to love. So, I'm going to spend the entire month of September in love. I am going to romance literature, music, friendship -- you get the cheddary picture.

And today, I am in love with If You Want Me To Stay, written by Sylvester Stewart in 1973 and performed by Sly and the Family Stone. That bass line makes my heart leap and my ass move. Aaahhhh.... sweetness. You should do yourself a favor, click the rhapsody link at the top of this post and listen for yourself.

I know what you mean. Bollocks to cold oatmeal.. or cold anything for that matter.
I'd rather singe my lips than kiss a corpse.

Again - Rhapsody 'detected that I'm outside the US' -so won't play music for me :( Bugger!
The lyrics will have to suffice for now.

Overhauling the profile?

Amen! I like my food and my men to have a little bite. ;)

Thanks for the heads up on Rhapsody. For all of you other folks visiting from outside of the country, I found If You Want Me To Stay on YouTube. Hopefully, that will work.

No, not overhauling, just needed to briefly disappear.

Good goddamm! A woman who loves Sly & The Family Stone? AND, as I've previously note, one who uses "pansy chicken shits" as a meta tag?

I'm in love! Which is tough for me, because I don't believe in that bullshit. Still and all....

p.s. I'll just send you some money to by yourself a new Porsche if you tell me that you ALSO love Al Green!

It's a great song, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's been covered a bunch of times. Thanks!

Thanks for the cynically sweet compliment. Now, I'm twitterpated.

Soul kisser Reverend Al Green rocks my body tight, although I'm more partial to Otis Redding.

I don't usually get sports cars, so my first inclination was to say "no". Then I remebered my son started driver's ed today, so if you want to send me a car -- forget the porsche, save yourself some bucks and fulfill one of my fantasies -- driving this.

And you want me to deliver this Camaro where?

Let's hit the bitch stereotype with the doormat. Well said, my dear. Larval humans are always confining. I hit my other half in the head today and your post went down well. Let's hope he gets the message and you get lots of love from all sources. :)
